Sam Wood’s Noosa Stay Under Scrutiny as Neighbours Reveal What They Saw
Former The Bachelor star and fitness entrepreneur Sam Wood is facing serious domestic violence charges following an alleged incident at a luxury Noosa holiday property on Saturday night.
Neighbours staying at the upscale Hastings Street complex reportedly noticed police and paramedics arriving at the $3,000-a-night accommodation shortly after 9pm. One guest said she had not heard any disturbance beforehand but saw a woman open the apartment door for paramedics. Another witness reportedly saw Wood speaking with police before he was taken away and arrested.
Other guests said they had seen the family during their stay but had not witnessed arguments or altercations. One guest also recalled seeing the youngest child leave the room while sleepwalking.
Queensland Police later confirmed that a 46-year-old Victorian man had been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm in a domestic violence context and strangulation in a domestic setting. Wood was refused bail and remains in custody.
His lawyer has indicated that Wood intends to defend the charges and will apply for bail at his next court appearance on Thursday.
Reports also say Wood did not personally appear in court on Monday amid concerns about his mental health, although further details have not been publicly confirmed.
Wood and his wife, Snezana, have said the family is cooperating with authorities.
